Students made up adjectives that would describe a good student. When reflecting on their actions during the day, they may be asked to go read these to determine if they are in fact acting like a good student.
The BRAINiac club is a program in our classroom for early finishers to participate in after their work is done. The club has five categories reading, math, language arts, science, and social students. If a student completes their work early, they can go pick a task card from one of the categories to complete. Once they have completed the task and I approve it, they are given a sticker to place on their BRAINiac Club card. When they get fifteen stickers, they receive their name in the BRAINiac Hall of Fame and an award. This club is optional, but all members are welcomed.
Times Facts Hall Of Fame
The students will be given a one-minute times test after they have completed their packet on each certain number. If the student know the facts and passes their test, they place their name in the hall of fame pocket chart. If your child passes all of the times facts test, their name will be placed in the hall of fame with an award.
Each pod has a team color that they belong to in our class. Whenever their pod is first to pick up, get a right answer, neat desk, etc. they will receive corn kernels in their cup. When they reach a line, they receive a reward. The rewards are shoeless in the classroom, teacher lunch in, and an extra recess. When they reach the top, they start the reward system over.
